Being mentored creates opportunities for reflection and learning, which are foundational to growth. Educators may have the title of mentor, but there are actions required for one to actually be mentored. Mentoring requires effort, intentionality, and engagement.

Jim Strachan is an influential educator, consultant, and advocate for teacher professional development in Canada, particularly in Ontario. He has played a significant role in mentoring and supporting educators throughout his career. Strachan is widely recognized for his expertise in educational leadership and his ability to foster collaborative, reflective teaching practices. He is best known for his Mentoring for All, which feeds the New Teacher Induction Program (NTIP) that he helped catalyse in Ontario.
